Polio Eradication Program Technical Advisory Group Meeting Begins in Doha

Kabul, Afghanistan – The Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meeting launched in Doha, the capital of Qatar. In this official gathering, Dr. Nek Wali Shah Momin, the director of the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) represents the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan.

The meeting is held by Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) and hub, it will last for the next three days and the participants will review and assess the status of polio eradication efforts in Afghanistan and Pakistan; the operating environment and risks to the program; the interventions of the last 6 months and the country plans and strategies and identify existing risks and discuss Supplementary immunization activity (SIA) schedule for the remaining 2023.

The official discussion will also provide technical guidance on new polio cases recorded in 2023.
